Summer.... where did you go???

We took a few family pictures at the beach.

Wow! What a busy summer it has been! We were blessed this summer to be able to spend lots of time at the beach and the pool with family and friends. The kids have become fish! They LOVE the water and Wesley is even swimming without arm floaties! We are so proud of him! Makenzie thinks she can swim as well as Wesley and has jumped in to the water without her arm floaties and given us all a scare twice this summer! I can't believe that the summer is almost over! Oh where did it go???
I started my new job this past Monday and I love it! I have learned a lot just in the first week. I am looking forward to school starting this next week so I can get to know all the kids! Even though I can't wait for the kids to start back, I am not looking forward to my kids starting! Last Sunday and Monday were hard for me. Have you ever had a dream, a dream that you have had since you were a little kid, and that dream came true? One of my dreams has always been to be able to stay home with my kids till they started school. Well, I have done that and now I have embarked on the next adventure in my life. It is sad to think that my babies are getting big and starting school! I look back and realize how QUICKLY the past 4 years have flown by! EVERY day this past week both of the kids have asked me if they can go to work with me and if TODAY is the day that they go to school! They are SO ready and excited to start! I guess that will make it easier on me next Thursday when I drop them off in their classes for the first time! I am so very blessed to be able to be at school with them and to be able to see them during the day!

This morning we had a little bit of a surprise! Makenzie came in our room around 5:45am, which is NOT like her at all! Glen told her that it was still "nite
nite time" and to go back to bed. It was still dark so he didn't really get a good look at her. She then went potty in our bathroom and then back to bed. A few minutes later Glen got up and went to the bathroom. He then told me that there was blood on the potty. He went to check on Makenzie and there was blood, dried blood, from one ear to the other, up both arms and hands, and on her clothes. Turns out she had a HORRIBLE nose bleed in the middle of the night and slept through it! After finally cleaning her up it was almost 6:30am! This was NOT the time we were planning on getting up on Saturday but that is just what comes with being a parent! :)
