The Great Physician

We have had an exciting few months in the Hall household. Most recently, Wesley has turned 6 years old! He had his first birthday sleepover with 7 friends.  Glen and I chaperoned the event all night with no major injuries! :)    This week has been a big week for our 6 year old, he has his first loose tooth! He is SOOOO excited! Most everyone in his class at school has lost a tooth and he has been so sad because he hasn't lost one yet.  At the rate he is wiggling this tooth, it will only take a day or two to come out! Makenzie will be turning 5 years old in a few weeks. She is counting down the days till she turns another year older. The month of January has been a long month for us as parents. Makenzie has been having a severe inner ear pain for the past several weeks and the Pediatrician nor the ENT can figure out what the problem was. They sent her to a Pediatric Neurologist and he diagnosed her with Trigeminal Neuroalgia. This is the swelling of one or more blood vessels in the side of her face that causes the vessels to push against the nerves in her ear. Therefore, causing the inner ear pain. Thankfully, there is medication that she can take. Unfortunately, she will have to take this medication for the rest of her life. It is to help prevent the pain and to help control the pain when it should occur.  We are thankful that we finally have answers, though.

Before I sign off for the night, I would like to ask for prayers for a high school friend of mine that is dealing with something way worse than I could ever imagine. Her name is Lauren 'Hickmon' DeSisso. Her son, Kynian, was born premature at 25 weeks. He is not doing well at all. You can follow her blog and catch up with all that is going on at this link.

I admire Lauren so much, she has great faith, love, and strength.  Please say a prayer for them as you tuck in your healthy child tonight and are able to hold, love, and kiss on them.  God is the Great Physician!

I'm so glad we finally have answers for Kenzie. And I'm so glad that Wesley has his first loose tooth! That's so incredibly exciting!

Also, I read some of your friend's blog and it really broke my heart. Like you, I cannot even begin to imagine what she and her husband are dealing with. I will keep them and their son in my prayers.
