Cub Scouts and Soccer

With the fall usually comes extra-curricular activities in our house.  This fall, the two main activities are Cub Scouts and Soccer.  Wesley joined the Cub Scouts this year and so far he is loving it.  He earned his first badge (the badger badge) at a ceremony last week. So far, he has learned the pledge, the scout promise, the meaning of cub scouts, the hand shake and the hand sign.  This week they discussed fire safety at home and at school.  In 2 weeks he is going on his first BIG cub scout adventure,  CAMPING at the Boy Scout camp.  The rest of the pack and their families will be going too.  I will keep you posted on the out come of that weekend. :)

Apparently this is a tradition at the first badge ceremony.  The Cub Master flips the scout as he is handed his first badge.

Makenzie is also having a first this fall, she is participating in soccer. She is on the K5/1st grade team at Mobile Christian. Last Saturday was her first game. They played at 10 and lost that game. But then they played again at 12 and won! Makenzie really got after the ball several times and really enjoyed being the goalie. She is really enjoying participating in the different sports. She has been doing gymnastics for 3 years now and has been begging us to let her play soccer and basketball. We shall see if she really wants to play all these sports! :)
