Father - Son bonding

This weekend Glen and Wesley went camping together for the first time.  This was part of Wesley's Cub Scouts so 1 other dad and his son joined them for their camping adventure.  Wesley has been SO excited about this weekend for the past 2 weeks.  Little did he know ALL the fun they would be having.  They (all 4 guys) left after school on Friday and drove up to the Boy Scout camp about an hour and a half away.  They arrived just in enough time to set up their tents and to get a fire going.  After their fire was burning they roasted hot dogs and then went on a hike with their flash lights.
The next morning they had breakfast and then started their "Cub Scout training".  First they hiked down to the rifle range where they shot BB Guns, sling shots, and bow-n-arrows.  Then they rode in canoes, participated in an oppstical course and even learned how to fold a flag.  At the end of the day they were ALL worn out.  When they got home Wesley got a "second wind" and told me all about shooting the gun, sling shot and bow-n-arrow. Then he told us that was what he was asking Santa for this year! All I can say is "we shall see!" :)
Weekends like this I know are memories that Wesley will never forget. I am so thankful to have a husband that wants to spend time with his son and be a wonderful example to him.
