Eye surgery

Monday morning Makenzie went in for surgery on the muscles in her eyes. She has had weak muscles in her eyes since she was born. The Dr. has been trying to strengthen the muscles for 3 years with glasses but after several prescription changes and no change in muscle strength, surgery was our last option.
After lots of thought and prayer we decided that surgery was the best option for her now. She was nervous, as was expected, but she knew it was what was best for her.
We got up early Monday morning and at 9am she was headed back for surgery. We were able to see her in recovery around 10:30.
Our sweet little girl in recovery. Her eyes had ointment on them and all light hurt her eyes to open. In fact, when she opened her eyes she couldn't see and it did scare her. But she slowly woke up and we were headed home. She has had a rough few days with soreness, dizziness, redness and upset stomach.
We went back to the Dr today for a check up and we learned that the medicated ointment we have been using on her eyes since surgery has caused irritation in her eyes. Thankfully we now know what has been causing some of discomfort and have switched to some drops.
Now we wait to see how she will react to the drops....
