Knees wrapped, goldfish and a movie!

Wow! What a weekend! Glen has been traveling A LOT this month so the kids are becoming VERY clingy for Daddy. Glen got home Friday morning and we spent the day catching up on all the things that we didn't get to do during the week. On Saturday Glen worked in the yard mowing, cleaning, and trimming up the yard. We still had a few leaves in the yard that needed to be picked up . The kids thought they would help daddy dump the leaves from the bagger on the mower into a garbage bag. While doing this Makenize leaned up against the HOT muffler of the lawnmower. She now has HUGE blisters right above each knee! This has been an ordeal all weekend since she HATES band aids and we have to keep the blisters/sores covered up till they heal completely! All I can say is that I am happy Glen was actually home for this tragedy!
Saturday night we went over to Glen's parents house to dye eggs/hunt eggs. The kids had a blast hunting the eggs and then hiding them for each other to find! When it came time for dyeing the eggs I think the kids had just as much dye on them as the eggs did! They had fun and that is what counts! Sunday morning we woke up the kids so they would have time to play with what the Easter Bunny brought them. They were very excited with all they got. They keep saying "Now it is time for Santa to come!" They don't quite have a concept on time yet so this is very hard for them to understand! :)

Now kids say the darnest things!!! And don't put it past my kids to surprise me one bit!!! In Bible Hour Sunday night all the kids were coloring waiting for their parents to come when Makenzie decided to speak up and say "My mommy is having a BABY!!!!" That is right! You read that correctly!!! When glen got up there Mrs. Liz and Mrs. Lori looked at Glen and asked "Is Holly Expecting???" Glen QUICKLY said "NO!" For some reason Makenzie is determined that she is going to have a baby brother/sister! We haven't even talked about it!!! We have NO idea where or why she keeps saying this!!! As we were walking out of service I had several people ask me if I was pregnant! I never thought my 3 year old would start rumors at such a young age!!! :)

Finally, this morning the kids went for their regular dental checkup. They have been going for 2 years now. Every time we go Glen is with us because it takes each of us to hold a child while their teeth are being cleaned. Going to the Dentist is like going to the Doctor to my kids. They don't want anyone touching them or poking on them! Today, since Glen was out of town again, I took them by myself. I was wondering how I was going to do this since I have only 1 lap! I knew it would be a LONG morning! When we got there and they called the kids names as started to walk back with them. the hygienist's looked at me and said " you can wait in the lobby mom, we will call you if we need you!" I stood there and watched my kids walk back to the BIG chairs all by themselves! I had to hold back tears!!! I turned and sat back down in the lobby watching the clock tick by waiting to be called back for help! After 45 mins, the Dentist called me back and the kids came running up to me thrilled and excited about their new "toys" for having clean teeth and doing a good job! Dr. Thomas said that he heard ALL about what the Easter bunny brought, including the M&M's!!! Opps! I forgot to tell the kids NOT to mention the candy they got!!! Dr. Thomas said that they were as good as gold and never complained or cried once! I was and still am in shock! I can't believe that my kids, my babies, went back all by them self with out needing me to hold their hand or sit in my lap! I know I should be so proud of my kids, and I am, I just wasn't ready for this big step into maturity yet! There are so many small steps that kids take to being independent, and today it was a BIG step- for both of us!!!
