Summer has come and gone oh too quickly! Today is my last day of summer vacation 2011. It has been a very eventful summer, though. Somewhere between 2 weddings, family vacations, extended family visits, termite destruction/remodel and a new skylight, we have still had a relaxing summer. The kids are getting VERY excited about school starting back. Thankfully all supplies have been purchased. We are all set with new clothes, shoes, backpacks, and lunchboxes. Now, we shall see if I can make it through the first day of school! I still can not believe that I have a 1st grader and my baby is in Kindergarten. It seems like it was yesterday that they were starting their first day at MCS as a K3 and K4 student. I know that if I blink they will be going off to college so I refuse to blink! :)
This summer we have also been spending a lot of time with my baby sister, Abby. She graduated from Harding Univ. in May and is about to start a new and exciting chapter in her life. She is moving to Dallas to pursue a life on the mission field. She isn't sure yet where she will be going over seas, but it will probably be some where in the middle east. Wesley and Makenzie ADORE their Aunt Abby. She is the Aunt that will let them do anything (with in reasoning). She has so much patience with them and will play anything that they beg her to play. She loves to have them snuggle with her in bed all night and doesn't seem to mind the kicking and nudging that she might get all night. Having their Aunt Abby move to Dallas is very sad to them (and me) because they are so close to her and love her so much. I love my sisters so much and to have them both so far away can be very sad. Thankfully, it will be another year before she heads over seas, so we will still be able to visit her at the holidays and breaks. It is sad to see my baby sister move so far away, but it is even sadder to see my kids upset that their Aunt Abby is moving.
