Since Makenzie had eye surgery this past week, she couldn't go swimming over the 4th of July weekend. So we decided to do a little fishing instead. Glen's Uncle invited us to come out to his property and fish. Bayou Sara Creek runs along the side of his property so we were hoping for a few catfish and bream.
My little fisher after she got all set up. She had to learn a lot of patience that day! It took her awhile to understand that the fish do not just jump out of the water in to your lap!
But she finally had success with this little bream. She was SO excited!
By the end of the day (about 5 hours later) our total catch was 3 catfish and 2 bream.
We ended our 4th with a fish fry and Makenzie got to eat her own fish. She loves fried fish so she was excited to eat what she caught.
On the way home that night she told us that she couldn't wait to go fishing again. We may have a little "fisherman" after all!
