Last summer Wesley took swimming lessons from a family friend, Mindy Rowe. This year we decided to have him take lessons again AND for Makenzie to take lessons too. Wesley's lessons were the first week of June. While Wesley was swimming with all the 4 yr. old's Makenzie got to swim in the kiddie pool. EVERY day Makenzie would ask Mrs. Mindy if it was her turn for her lessons. She was VERY anxious to get started and learn to swim like a BIG girl! Thankfully my kids are NOT scared of the water AT ALL! They are FISH!!! They would (and have!) jump right into the pool if I didn't stop them to put on their arm floaties! Wesley has learned how to dive for objects at the bottom of the pool and at the moment this is his favorite thing to do when we are swimming. Makenzie THINKS she is bigger than what she actually is! She tries to tell me that she doesn't need floaties or a swim ring and that she can "make circles with her arms and kick" all by herself! I have a feeling that by the end of the summer that Wesley will be able to swim with no arm floaties or at least with someone right there with him!
