Termites! GROSS!

One lovely evening in May, we were sitting down for a nice dinner when a bug wouldn't stop flying around us. It was quickly killed and we continued with our dinner. Then, a few more bugs continued to fly. We got so frustrated that we turned off the light thinking it was attracted to the light. After dinner, while the kids were taking a bath, we noticed that there were a LOT more "bugs" flying in the living room.  Unfortunately, by the end of the night we realized what and where these "bugs were coming from.  The termites were coming from a crack in the window sill in the living room. When the recliner was moved from that corner, there were hundreds dead on the floor- GROSS,  I know!   The bug man came out the next day and sprayed "poison" and told us that we would have to wait 3 -4 weeks before we would know how much damage was done. So, today was the day we had been dreading.  The contractor started at 8am sharp! My living room was moved around, covered and protected and the wall started coming down.  Now, I was thinking that after 4 weeks there wouldn't be any living bugs left. I was wrong! When the contractor removed the window facing, there was little termites STILL crawling and eating to their hearts content! GROSS!  So, the bug man came back out and sprayed again.  After all the termites were gone and they found out how they got in to the house, the wall went back up.  Now, it is spackled and just needs painted.  Thankfully, we did not have to pay a dime for this! Advice for the the day: if you do not have a termite bond on your house- GET ONE! Trust me! It is worth it!
And the wall starts to come down. The left side of the window that you can see is where the infestation was.

Tearing it all down to the studs.  The piece taken out of the other wall was where the termites started but there was no damage. They came through the drain trap from the tub. The bathroom is on the otherside of the wall.

The wall is back up and now just needs to be sanded and painted.
