There is always a first....

Today was day 1 of the next 180 days of school. There were lots of tears shed by me and many other mom's and dad's. It was kinda hectic getting all the kids to their correct classrooms, but thankfully, the kids held up way better than the parents! :) I don't know how much my 2 children slept last night, but they have been bouncing off the walls with excitement as we have been counting down the days till the first day of school. This was probably one of the easiest mornings that I have ever had to get them up and ready! All I had to do was turn on their lights and say "Good morning! Time for school!" and they jumped out of bed and was in full speed attack mode with getting dress and breakfast! It was awesome! Now ask me in 2 weeks how fast they are getting up and it might be a different story!
Wesley has so much fun today going on a hunt for the gingerbread man. His Kindergarten class went all over campus in search of the gingerbread man. They looked for clues and the clues told them where to go next. This was one of the ways they got to meet some of the people on campus and learn where some things are (ex: computer lab, cafeteria, etc). When they got back to their room, SURPRISE! the gingerbread man was in their room ready for them to eat him! You could hear them squealing with excitement all over our building. One of the funniest things that happened today was when Mrs. Lisa sent Wesley and a friend to bring "Mrs. Holly" something. Thankfully I saw Wesley running past my office out the door. Ms. Minor stopped him and asked where he was going. He said " Mrs. Lisa told us to take this to Mrs. Holly to cook (it was the dough for their gingerbread man) and we have to get it to her in the cafeteria!" It was all the Ms. Minor and I could do not to die laughing! She then tried to explain to Wesley that MOMMY was MRS. HOLLY. You could tell that he was very confused and just looked at her strange. I think we are going to have to try to explain to him again that I have 2 names! :)

Makenzie started K4 today in Mrs. Liz's class. She is so excited to be in Mommy's Building this year! She keeps telling me that she is going to come see me everyday because she will have a boo boo and will need a bandaid. (I am the building mommy and boo boo fixer.) When she got home she told me all about the story that they wrote and read, "The kissing Hand", and then she went into every detail of her day. Thankfully it was only a half day today! Come Wednesday I might need 2 hours to hear all about her day.

Both of them are growing up so fast. I can't get over that I have a kindergartener! It was just the other day that we were singing 5 different versions of "Jesus Loves Me" to him because that was the only thing he would go to sleep to. I remember the day I found out I was pregnant with Makenzie and couldn't believe that I was about to have another baby when I have a 3 month lying in the crib already. It was just yesterday that Glen and I were introducing "Makenzie Shelby Hall" to our family and her big brother, Wesley. It didn't take long for her to have us wrapped around her little finger, either! Now they are best friends and love each other so much (even when they don't show it all the time)!

God has blessed me beyond measure and I am so thankful that I get to spend and experience the next 179 days with my children, too!
